up to 200MPH winds?
Steve Schappert envisioned
a building industry that would be environmentally friendly but
yet stimulate the economy; this is a huge step towards conquering his
lifetime vision. Flagstar Bank / myself know the importance of trying to
conserve our environment as we stand in the year 2008 for the future of
our children and Flagstar Bank now offers Energy-Efficient Mortgage
Program (EEM) through FHA/HUD in which clients can obtain financing
for energy savings improvements and equipment. I am proud to be a part
of the Bios Center and look forward to future projects with Steve
Schappert/ Connecticut Real Estate and Construction as he continues his
mission in creating an eco friendly building process and energy
efficient homes.

Hello,
I would
be very interested in knowing more about this venture, since our

Dear Steve
Schappert,
An artist
friend of mine in Germany send me the information about your project,
which I read with much interest.
But I
couldn’t find anything about concern or protection from electromagnetic
or microwave radiation, which has become a major issue.
I’m an
artist and have done over 300 exhibitions all over the world, but work
also in the realm of quantum physics on the issues of radiation, since
I’m highly sensitive to it, for the last 15 years. We provide a
technology out of Germany, which is based on Photon energy, which takes
care of these problems.
In the fall
I’m giving several public talks through out Germany and will use that to
make people aware of your project.
If you are
interested to find out more about our work, I’ll be happy to provide you
with some information.
With kind
regards from New Mexico

[Environmental Ballet] New comment on Creating an environmental ballet.
paula burns has left a new comment on your post "Creating
an environmental ballet":
The concept is so exciting and particularly energizing for the downtown
New Milford (Railroad Street, in particular, is in dire need of
energizing). A project with this kind of vision should be encouraged and
embraced by the downtown. We should be striving for healthier living and
a more sustainable lifestyle.
This is a sexy project that has the potential to draw a segment of the
market here that would currently have no interest in the offerings on
Railroad Street.
An environmental ballet is a beautiful expression that transcends words
- instead moving you in a more spiritual way.

Hi
Steve,
I am interested in knowing more about this type of
building system.
I have been receiving emails from you now for about 4
or more years and I am liking what I see.
We are a specialised buyer’s agent and project
management firm based in Queensland Australia. The eco thing is only
really very infant stages here too and I would like to be on the cutting
edge of introducing this technology here.
I am assuming that cost might be an issue for
Australians due to the exchange rate and the distance covered to both
get the product here and also to transport it around here. I am however,
interested to know more and do some sums. The fact is that we have some
much sunlight here all year round; I am surprised more has not been done
with solar power.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing form
you.
Have a great day.

Good afternoon,
I would be interested in
your product for the low/middle cost housing in South Africa.
I am a Mechanical Engineer
presently working in the Middle East and based in South Africa.
I am involved on a part time
basis, when I am home on leave, with a small property developer who
builds high end housing.
The market for cost
effective housing in South Africa is huge and I feel your product would
do well.
The main question would be,
could you produce smaller units with your manufacturing resources.
The size of units we would
be looking at would be approx 80/100m2, 2/3 bedroom type housing.
If this is something you
could do then please reply and we can discuss further.
Kind regards,
Jim Harron
This looks very interesting.
Please let me know how I might become involved.

Dear Steve
Schappert,
Thank you
for this information which seems very interesting indeed. I have had a
look at the web site and it is an exciting project,.
As you have
found me through my web site,
www.lornagreen.com, I wonder how I can be involved as all my work
is commissioned both temporary and permanent and I do not sell my work.
I would be very happy to prepare something for you - I work, as you have
seen, on a very large scale but would have to be commissioned for this.
Maybe you have visiting artists on a residency basis who make site
specific work for this or outdoor events with site specific
environmental work? Please could you let me have further information.
I look
forward to hearing from you again,
Thanks,
Lorna Green.
Steve,
How does one participate. PLease go to my web site.

I have gotten several of your marketing
emails. The Bios center sounds terrific, but I have no idea what you
want from me. I make sculptural systems that provide various kinds of
water treatment. Are you interested in commissioning such a project for
your center.
Good luck with your endeavor,
jackie brookner
Dear Steve,
Thank you for getting back to me. I'll attach a short bio for you. If
you have any potential sponsorship, I would highly recommend you
incorporate artists into the construction process of the building, even
the visioning of it, as early as possible. A major understanding that
has evolved over the last decade in public art, can be summed up as,"Art
from the start." This means including artists from teh bery beginning,
not as add ons after. In work such as my own, which collects and
filters stormwater runoff from the roof, for example, or offers
possibilities for recycling greywater, etc. these things need to be
incorporated into the buliding vision and plans. Other artists work
with energy that similarly shoudl be included up front. For a project
with such innovative aspirations, such inclusion would seem natural and
important.
Best,
Jackie Brookner

Dear Steve,
Congratulations, what exciting news.
I’m not sure if you remember me as we spoke
almost a year ago as I embarked on my endeavor to return “home” to CT
from Eugene, OR. This BIOS center is something that would be more of a
norm in Oregon, and I’m thrilled to see it happening here. I did make
it here – for what that’s worth – I’m in Newtown for now. I have plans
of moving up to New Milford in the near future as I am planning to
remarry and my fiancé lives just seconds from your BIOS center location,
off of Aspetuck. He is a remodeling contractor, so I will share your
news with him as well.
Please let me know if you happen to have any
job openings that I may be suited for. I am currently employed in
Wilton at a large marketing agency as a Senior Copywriter. I also have
over 15 years of Operations Management, Office Management and Personnel
Management experience. I also have knowledge of both retail and
construction/remodeling management. Both commuting to Wilton every day
and writing copy for chemical-pumping corporate giants are the downside
of my relocation. To start out, it’s what I needed to do to survive and
support my son. Ideally, I’d rather prosper with conscious employment.
For it to be in New Milford – even more ideal.
Thanks for your consideration – please let me
know if you know of any positions that I may apply for.
Warm Regards,

Hi Steve,
Congratulations on pulling all this together and getting this project
started!! I think it is very much needed.
We would install solar and/or wind energy technologies here (we have a
very good site for both, I think) if the installation cost could be
brought down so that pay back occurred quickly enough for us to gain
benefit from it. When it takes many years to break even, we wonder if
we will live long enough for that to happen.
Again Bravo for your accomplishment and thank you for including me on

I
am thrilled about this project. Please let me know how I can get
involved in the art gallery, because I am a Performance Artist fusing
dance with visual art and sound. Some of my videos can stand alone, and
they contain beautiful, moving images of our natural world.
Furthermore, I am beginning a local initiative recycling project to
promote the use of reusable shopping bags, so maybe the store would like
to sell these durable, handcrafted items made locally. I have some

Hello
Steve,
I received
your email the other day. I can say I'm very excited about your project
on Railroad Street. When it's complete it will be the jewel of the
village. I'm sure you'll be able to get a lot of national press from
the project as well which should increase interest in your other
ventures.
My wife and
I built a house 5 years ago and I wish I gave energy efficiency a more
serious look due to the recent rise in energy costs. Though our house
is complete, I haven't totally given in. I've been researching small
hydroelectric systems for a large dam on our property.
Getting
back to you email, I belong to the original "Green Industry". I have
degrees in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture and have owned a
landscape design and installation business my whole life. We design and
plant living, breathing environments which reduce energy costs just as
your buildings can. I've attached our winter 2006 newsletter. The main
article on page 2 is about how landscaping can help reduce energy
costs. You might find it of interest.
If you ever
need help with guiding your landscapes towards being more
environmentally friendly through natives, eliminating or reducing lawn
areas or proper plant and plant positioning for maximizing energy
conservation, let me know.
